I've counted all the scars
Of missing pieces in my heart
One for each kiss
One for each goodbye
And one for each time
Someone sang me a lullaby
I've counted all the stars
Of missing chances in my life
They look like diamonds
High up there in the sky
I've counted all the times
I thought I knew
What was going on with me
And what was up with you
But thinking leads to more
Of those scars
Scars from pieces
Missing from my heart

Nonsense
Little rays of sunlight filter through green leaves
I feel light and slightly above the pretty trees
I am flying high, on clouds that do not exist
And little smiles of kitten whiskers tickle at my wrists
I feel light and slightly above the pretty trees
I am flying high, on clouds that do not exist
And little smiles of kitten whiskers tickle at my wrists

You Shine
You shine, like the moon, like the stars
forever in my heart
You shine, like the sun
when the day has just begun
Like the rainbow after a steady rain
You shine, you shine so beautifully my friend.
forever in my heart
You shine, like the sun
when the day has just begun
Like the rainbow after a steady rain
You shine, you shine so beautifully my friend.

Broken Teapot
I've got a broken little teapot full of broken dreams
I've got a broken little button in my favorite pair of jeans
I've got a sinking little feeling, deep inside my heart
I've got another little drop in my ocean of blue
for each time life tears me apart
I've got a broken little button in my favorite pair of jeans
I've got a sinking little feeling, deep inside my heart
I've got another little drop in my ocean of blue
for each time life tears me apart

Smile
I feel a smile floating in the air as I sip my coffee
A smile I haven't felt around in quite a while
There's a melody coming from an old piano in the corner
And a taste of sherry on the wind
The dust sparkles in the sunlight
Someone hums along to some long forgotten song
And we sit here, sipping coffee, sipping sherry
As we have since time first begun
There's someone playing a guitar
Another is tuning a bass
The sun is setting and the coffee is gone
But the taste still lingers on your lips
Lips that are smiling, as they haven't in quite a while
A smile I haven't felt around in quite a while
There's a melody coming from an old piano in the corner
And a taste of sherry on the wind
The dust sparkles in the sunlight
Someone hums along to some long forgotten song
And we sit here, sipping coffee, sipping sherry

Places
It's quiet in this place
The glen of wordless wonder
It's lonesome in this place
The glen of wordless solitude
And if you join me in this place
What will happen then, I wonder?
The glen of wordless wonder
It's lonesome in this place
The glen of wordless solitude
And if you join me in this place
What will happen then, I wonder?

I want to be beautiful
I want to be beautiful
Like the girls I see walking past
I want to be pretty
Like a single rose on a patch of grass
I want to be graceful
Like a ballerina dancing on and on
I want to be weightless
Like a feather upon the wind
I want to be beautiful
Like the sunshine breaking through clouds
I want to be pretty
Like a field of daises
I want to be graceful
Like a cat balancing on a fence
I want to be weightless
Like a snowflake
I want to be beautiful...
Like the girls I see walking past
I want to be pretty
Like a single rose on a patch of grass
I want to be graceful
Like a ballerina dancing on and on
I want to be weightless
Like a feather upon the wind
I want to be beautiful
Like the sunshine breaking through clouds
I want to be pretty
Like a field of daises

I want to be weightless
Like a snowflake

Rain
Little raindrops fall against my window
They sing little songs to me in the dark
Little raindrops that cool the air
They form into pools that leave their mark
Dry earth is revitalized
Dry grass gains moisture
Dry flowerbeds are swept away
By the cool and soothing raindrops
Little raindrops sing against my window
They revitalize the city in the night
Little raindrops make sleeping harder
But all is fresh with the return of light
They sing little songs to me in the dark
Little raindrops that cool the air
They form into pools that leave their mark
Dry earth is revitalized
Dry grass gains moisture
Dry flowerbeds are swept away
By the cool and soothing raindrops
Little raindrops sing against my window
They revitalize the city in the night
Little raindrops make sleeping harder
But all is fresh with the return of light

Autumn
Autumn, leaves are changing
In a country under the equator
European trees that should be awakening
Are slowly falling asleep
Autumn, dreams are changing
In a country far away from home
European girls are falling asleep
When they should be awakening
Autumn, just in some little places
Like outside the window in Australia
One little tree is falling asleep
In the middle of May
In a country under the equator
European trees that should be awakening
Are slowly falling asleep
Autumn, dreams are changing
In a country far away from home
European girls are falling asleep
When they should be awakening
Autumn, just in some little places
Like outside the window in Australia
One little tree is falling asleep
In the middle of May
One
One hand on my hip, a coffee in the other
One smile on my lips, a frown for another
One hand on the strings, a pick in the other
One laugh on my lips, a sigh for another
One smile on my lips, a frown for another
One hand on the strings, a pick in the other
One laugh on my lips, a sigh for another

Walked Right Through
You walked right through my dreams last night
With your head held high and that wicked smile
Singing a song I've never heard before
And I woke up feeling like nothing's right
And it's making me distracted
To think of you tonight
Just a second ago I could have sworn I heard your voice
Asking me if I'm doing fine, am I all right?
You walked right through my dream last night
Through a pub I've never seen
You were singing songs and mixing drinks
But then someone turned off the light
And it made me feel uneasy
To wake up to an empty room
In a place so far away from where I was
And so completely filled with gloom
You walked right through my dream last night
With that wicked smile..
With your head held high and that wicked smile
Singing a song I've never heard before
And I woke up feeling like nothing's right
And it's making me distracted
To think of you tonight
Just a second ago I could have sworn I heard your voice
Asking me if I'm doing fine, am I all right?
You walked right through my dream last night
Through a pub I've never seen

But then someone turned off the light

You walked right through my dream last night
With that wicked smile..

Dreams
I'm living in a dream
feeding of a dream
living the dream
feeding the dream
making dreams out of songs
and singing songs made out of dreams
Dreaming dreams no one's dreamed before
feeding of a dream
living the dream
feeding the dream
making dreams out of songs
and singing songs made out of dreams
Dreaming dreams no one's dreamed before

Silver Sound
A quiet song is drifting on the moonlight
Can you hear it? It's a silver bell.
Sandalwood scents flowing just outside the sense of sight
In this chilly winter night
When the moon is singing with her silver sound
Friends rejoice, friends reunite
And if you know by which ties you're bound
Then you know what kind of treasure you've found
Can you hear it? It's a silver bell.
Sandalwood scents flowing just outside the sense of sight
In this chilly winter night
When the moon is singing with her silver sound
Friends rejoice, friends reunite
And if you know by which ties you're bound
Then you know what kind of treasure you've found

Short and Sweet
Take a look inside this heart
Listen to it's beat
Hold the memory tight to tonight
Just relax, exhale, just breathe
Sing a song, just for this heart
A lullaby so it can sleep
It's tired now, so just sing a song
Something short and sweet
Listen to it's beat
Hold the memory tight to tonight
Just relax, exhale, just breathe
Sing a song, just for this heart
A lullaby so it can sleep
It's tired now, so just sing a song
Something short and sweet

Undefined
There's a book on my shelf that I've left sitting for too long
There's a laugh on my lips that seems all wrong
There's a sound to my guitar that I cannot define
I'm just waiting for some part of me to step right out of line
There's a photo in a shoebox of me and an old friend
There are memories I cherish and times that will never come again
There are scenes of sadness and joy upon this stage
There's been times where I have screamed entirely filled with rage
There's a song waiting to be sung somewhere
There are people who I wish was here
There are stories we have needed to tell
And the things we never dared to say
There's a laugh upon my lips that seem all wrong
And a photo in a shoebox I've looked at for far too long
There's a laugh on my lips that seems all wrong
There's a sound to my guitar that I cannot define
I'm just waiting for some part of me to step right out of line

Boy's Club
You can have your little boy’s club
See, I don’t care, I’ll get by
I don’t need you to tell me that I’m goddamned fine
I know it already, so thanks for your time
Boys never grow up
They never let loose
Of their own arbitrary rules
A girl is a girl
That’s all there is
And they’ll have their club
Til the going gets too rough
You’re damn right I’m not your mother
Don’t treat me like I am
I’ve rolled with far more punches than you’ll ever understand
But don’t even think that you can take what’s mine
Boys never grow up
They never let loose
Of their fathers arbitrary rules
A girl is a girl
That’s all there is
And they’ll have their club
No new admissions

Thank You, My Friend
Thank you for being my friend
For helping me find my feet when I couldn’t stand
For being there for a girl like me
Even though you didn’t have to be
Thank you for being amazing
For all the kind words you just kept giving
For being there for me
Even though you barely had time to be
Thank you for conversations in the snow
For trust you placed in me
And I just wanted to let you know
You’ve meant the world to me and more
Thank you for being my friend
Thank you for letting me lean on you every now and then
Thank you for teaching me to trust again
Thank you for being the best of men
For helping me find my feet when I couldn’t stand
For being there for a girl like me
Even though you didn’t have to be
Thank you for being amazing

The Girl In Jeans And Ballerina Shoes
She walks down the street in jeans and ballerina shoes
She pirouettes at every corner of the quiet boulevard
In the shade of an old oak tree she whistles the blues
An old man turns around to stares at her, but she just smile and laughs
She walks down the beach, jeans folded up and shoes in hand
She picks up seashells under the pier where no one ever goes
In the breaking waves she stops to watch the sun set over the land
A young man walks past and doesn't stop, even to glance
She walks under the moon in jeans and ballerina shoes
She looks at the stars and and wishes for a friend to hold her hand
In her thoughts she flies away to a place where no one can ever lose
A cat meows softly from behind a window pane as she walks by
She walks into the house closer to morning than night
And falls into her bed and dreams about men who sing and smile
She pirouettes at every corner of the quiet boulevard
In the shade of an old oak tree she whistles the blues
An old man turns around to stares at her, but she just smile and laughs

Gargoyle Smile
Deep inside a dark snowy forest on a mountain high
Stands a cathedral of memories that refuse to die
There’s a tomb there which whispers the tune of you and I
Meet me there when time is through, when life is gone and lovers cry
All I’ve got left for you is a gargoyle smile
Under the moon in cathedrals wide
All I’ve got left for you is a gargoyle smile
Take my tears and hide them well until I die
Deep inside the cathedral of lies
Is a promise that was forgotten by the wise
Frown not if you won’t drop your lonesome disguise
For I know you true and well, we’ve met before, you and I
All I have for you is a gargoyle smile
Under moon and clouds in the forest wild
All I have for you is a gargoyle smile
Take my tears and let me hide
Stands a cathedral of memories that refuse to die
There’s a tomb there which whispers the tune of you and I
Meet me there when time is through, when life is gone and lovers cry
All I’ve got left for you is a gargoyle smile
Under the moon in cathedrals wide

A Daughter
Silver laughter in a corner finding my ears so delicately
Soft little fingers over my forehead soothing the pain and the grief
Little silent angel so undemanding and lovingly setting me free
Dreams of a little bird made of childhood songs you never could be
Just a memory of daughter, a daughter that could be
A splendid excuse for another day in this bed beside the dreams of
A daughter
Small gentile feet running down the pathway through daisies and green grass
Early mornings with tea in your hand and that child sitting in your lap
Little dancing fairy dancing in the midsummer and finding her way to your arms
Dreams of a small spell with power and passion of a childhood you never could be
Just a memory of a daughter, a daughter that could be
A splendid excuse for another day in this garden inside the dreams of
A daughter
Universe wrapping around
sacred spiral dance
Universe singing out loud
sacred time, rebirth of a daughter
Just a silent memory, just a daughter that possibly could be
A splendid excuse to stay in this naked truthful moment that is
The dream of a daughter
Soft little fingers over my forehead soothing the pain and the grief
Little silent angel so undemanding and lovingly setting me free
Dreams of a little bird made of childhood songs you never could be
Just a memory of daughter, a daughter that could be
A splendid excuse for another day in this bed beside the dreams of

Maybe Si, Maybe No
Can you sail, my friend, on the stars?
Can you run on the wind over the Sahara?
Can you dance, my friend, on the ocean floor?
Can you sing with the breath of a fly on a moor?
Can we do the impossible?
Can we do what we can't?
Can we change the whole world,
With just a single glance?
Maybe si, maybe no...
Maybe both of the two
Nothing's for certain and nothing's for sure.

Cosmos Within Us
We’re made of star stuff, you and I
Shining brilliantly, moving smoothly
Like waves upon the sand
Like the feather upon a wind
We have the cosmos within us
We are so beautiful
The atoms put together brilliantly
Traveling through space on a world of water
A world of water within a universe of fire and ice
We’re traveling so fast
You and I, made from star stuff
Like comets in the sky
Like waves upon the sand
Like a feather upon a wind
So beautiful
Shining brilliantly
Moving smoothly
You and I
With the cosmos underneath our skin
Shining brilliantly, moving smoothly
Like waves upon the sand
Like the feather upon a wind
We have the cosmos within us
We are so beautiful
The atoms put together brilliantly
Traveling through space on a world of water
A world of water within a universe of fire and ice

Dawn
Dawn comes early and brightly these days
Cigarette in the back yard and crumpets with tea
Croissant for the sugar rush and a little glass of juice
To settle into a new day

To settle into a new day

Who are we
How are we really?
Queasy and shy?
How are we really?
Just trying to survive?
Who are we really?
Someone who'll live and not die?
Who are we really?
Someone who'll actually live their life?
Who are we?
Have we found that out?
How are we?
I do think we're alive...
How are we?
Are we feeling better now?
Queasy and shy?
How are we really?
Just trying to survive?
Who are we really?
Someone who'll live and not die?
Who are we really?
Someone who'll actually live their life?
Who are we?
Have we found that out?
How are we?
I do think we're alive...
How are we?
Are we feeling better now?

My Friend, My Darling
Sing loudly, sing proudly
Live wildly, my friend
Dance with passion, my darling, dance!
Smile sweetly, smile always
Live happily, my friend
Laugh with pride, my darling, laugh!
Be you, always you and never someone else
For perfectly imperfect is what you are, my friend
Be in the now with love, my darling, just be!
